TXRS offers a wide range of client services in order to better prepare ex-offenders for their reentry into society.  A well-rounded education & support network is imperative to the well-being & continued freedom of our clients.
  • Intensive Case Management - assists the client in determining his/her needs through an intensive intake and assessment process that evaluates the client's strengths and needs. This process allows case managers to triage clients by providing internal referrals as well as information and referrals to other agencies in the community.

  • State ID/Birth Certificate - TXRS works with ex-offenders to obtain the proper documentation in order to be eligible for a state ID or driver's license. In addition, TXRS may pay a portion up to the complete cost for ex-offenders to obtain a valid ID.

  • Job Readiness/Life Skills Training - TXRS offers an intensive three day (12 hour) job training program that is designed to address many of the barriers encountered by ex-offenders when seeking employment. Upon the completion of the course, clients receive resume writing assistance and are provided with job referrals to employers in the community who have a willingness to hire individuals with a criminal background.

  • Literacy/GED Classes - TXRS partners with Fort Worth Independent School District Adult Education to provide literacy and GED classes at no charge. With flexible time options we are able to meet the needs of almost any schedule.

  • Project RIO Services - TXRS provides Project RIO employment services.  Project RIO is designed to provide employment placement services to individuals exiting Texas Department Criminal Justice and are on parole or discharged from his/her sentence within the last year.
  • Group Services - TXRS provides a variety of group services at little to no cost. These include: Anger Management, Batterers Intervention and Domestic Violence. Financial Management and Budgeting classes are offered at no cost.
  • Supportive Housing - TXRS partners with Workforce Solutions of Tarrant County to provide rental assistance.  TXRS also partners with HUD to provide temporary housing for up to 2 years.  A partnership with Fort Worth Housing Authority enables TXRS to provide permanent housing for limited number of ex-offenders who are homeless and have a disability (e.g. substance abuse/addiction, mental illness or a combination of the two). Our partnership with the City of Fort Worth and United Way through the Directions Home Program provides supportive permanent housing to 20 households headed by ex-offenders who were residing in the homeless population.
  • HIV Testing and Peer Education - TXRS partners with MHMR and SAMSHA to provide HIV testing and HIV Peer Education at no cost, as well as supportive services for ex-offenders diagnosed with HIV or who have a history of risky behaviors that could lead to HIV. Referrals are made to community organizations that focus on individuals diagnosed with HIV.
  • Medical Services - TXRS offers external referrals to John Peter Smith (JPS) Hospital for immediate and future medical needs. TXRS provides prescription assistance to clients who are unable to pay for life sustaining edications.schedule.

  • Mental Health Services  - TXRS provides referrals to MHMR as well as to other low cost and/or no cost counseling agencies in the community for clients struggling with a mental illness.
