Founded in 1997, as a comprehensive social services program and designed to ease the reintegration of ex-offenders into mainstream society, Founder and Director, Kay Smith, LMSW, uses her own experiences with incarcerated family members and her educational background to oversee the continuing development of Texas ReEntry Services. Kay's studies include an Associates of Arts degree in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Training, a Bachelors degree in Family Science, and a Masters degree in Social Services.

Howard Crump received his BBA from Texas Tech and Masters from USC. He spent eight years as an Army officer & the next thirty in the field of personal financial management. His last assignment prior to retirement in 2006 was a President & COO of an international financial planning firm with headquarters in Ft. Worth. Howard has served on several boards and has done volunteer work with the YMCA, North Texas Humane Society and his neighborhood association. In 2006 & 2007 he provided training material on personal financial literacy for all seniors in FWISD and Aledo High school at no cost to the students on the subject or provided training to the teachers who presented the material. He also provides these classes to clients of Texas ReEntry Services. Howard & his wife Sylvia have two sons & a granddaughter.
Tim Stevens, Board Member

Tim Stevens M.D. is a graduate of Rice University & Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. Tim has been Board Chair since 2005. Tim also serves as Co-Chair of the Tarrant County Stephen Ministry Network, & currently on the Board of Tarrant County Youth Collaboration. Tim learned of Kay Smith’s work at Texas ReEntry Services through his work as a Stephen Minister at St. Christopher Episcopal Church where his care receiver was struggling with reentry. Friends at church informed him of Kay Smith’s successful programs. “It has been exciting to work with Kay to strengthen & publicize our organization,” states Tim. No longer practicing internal medicine & cardiology, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife Sylvia, their two sons & four grandchildren.
